Courageous Cat, winner of the Shoemaker Mile Stakes (G1) and a contender for the upcoming TVG Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1), will stand his first season in 2012 at William S. Farish’s Lane’s End Farm in Versailles, Kentucky.

Farish purchased an interest in the five-year-old by Storm Cat out of two-time Grade 1 winner Tranquility Lake, by Rahy, from his owners and breeders Martin and Pam Wygod. Courageous Cat will join his full brother After Market on the Lane’s End roster.

“We feel Courageous Cat is the top miler in the country and he is certainly one of the leading candidates for this year’s Breeders’ Cup Mile,” Farish said. “After that race, he will be retired and a stud fee will be announced.”
