Tue, 10/30/2018 - 12:59

By the sire of a Kentucky Derby (G1) winner in his first crop, Mezinka is a three-quarters sister to the sire of a Triple Crown winner, and sells in foal to a champion who sired a Kentucky Derby (G1) winner in his first crop.

Mezinka is by the exciting grade one winner and classic contender Bodemeister, sire of Florida Derby (G1) and Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Always Dreaming; multiple graded stakes winning sprint star, American Anthem, and 2018 graded scorer Yuvesti.

By a son of Empire Maker, she is three-quarters sister to Empire Maker’s outstanding son, Pioneerof the Nile. Successful in the Santa Anita Derby (G1), CashCall Futurity (G1), Robert B. Lewis Stakes (G2) and San Felipe Stakes (G2), Pioneerof the Nile is already sire of Triple Crown hero, American Pharoah, and of Champion Two-Year-Old colt Classic Empire.

Star of Goshen, the stakes winning dam of Mezinka and Pioneerof the Nile is also dam of the grade two winning Forefathers, and of stakes producer Regala Di Trieste. Star of Goshen, who earned her black-type victory in the listed La Troienne Stakes at Churchill Downs, is herself half-sister to Powis Castle, whose resume includes scores in the Malibu Stakes (G2) and Vernon O. Underwood Breeders’ Cup Stakes (G3).

Castle Eight, the dam of Star of Goshen is out of a half-sister to Broadway Lullaby, a multiple stakes winner who is also ancestress of such as the grade one winner Bordonaro, and graded scorers Bricks and Mortar and Emerald Beach.

Mezinka is offered carrying her first foal, a son or daughter of Uncle Mo. A spectacular Champion Two-Year-Old, Uncle Mo made a record-breaking start to his stud career. With his first crop only five-year-olds of 2018, Uncle Mo has already sired 44 stakes winners, 20 of them graded, including Champion Two-Year-Old and Kentucky Derby (G1) captor, Nyquist; undefeated grade one winner Dream Tree; and other grade one scorers Mo Town, Unbridled Mo, Gomo and Outwork. This mating represents the cross of Uncle Mo with a Fappiano line mare, which has already produced Unbridled Mo, Outwork, graded winners Uncle Vinny and Mo Town, and stakes winner Hot Springs.
