Finley’sluckycharm earned her first stakes win and remained undefeated in sprints with a tour de force victory in the Dream Supreme S. at Churchill Downs. Two-for-two to start her career last winter, the $77,000 KEESEP buy dueled on a scorching pace in the two-turn GII Rachel Alexandra S. Feb. 20 at Fair Grounds and faded to finish seventh. Unseen for over seven months after that, the dark bay returned with two blowout wins under the Twin Spires Sept. 29 and Nov. 5.

Off as the 1-2 favorite here, Finley’sluckycharm broke sharply and dueled through a :21.87 quarter. Taking charge without being asked past a :45.26 half, the favorite crushed her competition in the lane to romp in an eye-opening final clocking. Moiety (Bernardini) finished second. The winner’s stakes-placed second dam, Gather the Day (Dayjur), is a half to MGISW Pure Clan (Pure Prize) and MGSW Greater Good (Intidab). Day of Victory is responsible for a 2-year-old Warrior’s Reward colt named Meiner Kenntnis and a yearling filly by Orb. She was bred to Violence this season.
