The first foal for the brilliant Eclipse Champion HONOR CODE hit the ground on Jan. 9. The 8-year-old Table Three Ten, a daughter of El Prado (Ire), foaled a filly by the multiple Grade 1 winner for breeder Cobra Farm.
Table Three Ten, named after the Lexington eatery, was a talking horse in Louisiana in 2011 when she debuted a 5 1/4-length winner at Fair Grounds. The win drew the attention of Team Valor International, which purchased her privately, and Table Three Ten went on to be a tough, fast multiple stakes performer.
On Jan. 11, HONOR CODE saw the second filly from his initial crop foaled by by the Distorted Humor mare Girlfriend. A resident of Indian Creek Farm, Girlfriend is owned by E5 Racing, which purchased her for $300,000 at Keeneland November.
Girlfriend is a daughter of the graded winner Collect Call and is a half to the G2SW Old Fashioned. It’s the extended family of French Deputy.
HONOR CODE was the #3 covering sire among freshman at last year’s bloodstock sales, with 17 in-foal mares selling for an average of $163,235. He was the #2 freshman sire, behind American Pharoah, with a median of $145,000.
The heir apparent of his sire A.P. INDY, the Lane’s End-raced HONOR CODE won the G1 Met Mile in 1:33.18 and the nine-furlong G1 Whitney H. in 1:47.82 as part of his championship season in 2015. He also won the G2 Remsen S. as a juvenile for trainer Shug McGaughey.
