The first Saturday of the Keeneland Spring Meet is one of the most anticipated days on the racing calendar and Lane’s End Farm is proud to have so many progeny of Lane’s End stallions contesting graded stakes on the card. The action will kick off with Crewman, a son of Candy Ride (Arg), in the G3 Commonwealth, followed by The Factor’s Bound for Nowhere in the G2 Shakertown S. a race later.

Four Lane’s End progeny are entered in a stellar edition of the G1 Madison. Salty, a four-year-old graded stakes-winning daughter of Quality Road, makes her second start of her 2018 campaign in this spot. Multiple graded stakes winner Tequilita (Union Rags) will make her seasonal debut for conditioner Michael Matz in the Madison, while Mines and Magic (Mineshaft) will break from gate 13 for trainer Vicky Oliver. The speedy Finley’sluckycharm, a multiple graded stakes-winning five-year-old daughter of Twirling Candy, is given a 4-1 chance on the morning line.

Two Lane’s End-sired sophomores will make their bid for a spot in the Churchill Downs starting gate the first weekend of May. The lightly-raced Ipanema Beach (Candy Ride {Arg}) will run in the G1 Ashland S., a prep for the Kentucky Oaks. Albaugh Stable’s Free Drop Billy will vie for the G2 Blue Grass S., a prep for the Kentucky Derby, in the following race on the card. The chestnut son of Union Rags is already a Grade 1 winner, having annexed the Breeder’s Futurity over this track last fall. He is the 5-1 second-choice on the morning line.

On the East Coast, Lane’s End will be represented by both Candy Ride (Arg) and Quality Road in the G1 Carter H. at Aqueduct. Do Share, a five-year-old stakes-winning son of Candy Ride (Arg), looks for his first graded win here as a 5-1 chance on the morning line, while Great Stuff (Quality Road), who captured the G3 Toboggan two starts back, is 8-1 on the morning line. A race later on the card, A Different Style, a son of The Factor, will take on a competitive field in the G3 Bay Shore S. for trainer Jason Servis.

However, the action doesn’t stop there. Quality Road has three runners in graded affairs at Santa Anita on Saturday. El Camino Real Derby winner Paved (Quality Road) will break from post position four in the G3 Providencia., Core Beliefs, who is hot off a wire-to-wire graduation in March, will contest the G1 Santa Anita Derby, and four-year-old filly Instant Reflex is entered in the G2 Royal Heroine S. The big day of racing will wrap up with Union Rags’ Spring Lily in the G1 Santa Anita Oaks.
