LANGFUHR PENSIONED AT 26

Lane’s End Farm announced today that prominent stallion Langfuhr has been pensioned at age 26. A member of the Lane’s End stallion roster since 2004, Langfuhr’s progeny have reached the highest echelon of Thoroughbred racing. Langfuhr sired 95 black-type winners, 26 graded stakes winner and five champions. Most notably Wando who was crowned Canadian Horse of the Year and Champion Three-Year-Old after winning the Canadian Triple Crown in 2003.

“It has been a privilege to stand Langfuhr at Lane’s End,” said Bill Farish. “We are very grateful to Mr. Schickedanz for entrusting us with his outstanding career.”

On the racetrack, Langfuhr was crowned Canadian Champion Sprinter as a four-year-old after racking up victories in the G1 Vosburgh Stakes and the G2 Forego Handicap. His winning ways continued into his five-year-old career taking the G1 Carter Handicap and the G1 Met Mile.

Langfuhr will be spend his retirement at Lane’s End Farm.
