Miss Besilu (f, 2, Medaglia d’Oro–Quiet Dance, by Quiet American) opened her account with a tired sixth going a mile on the Belmont main track Oct. 27. Let go at 6-1 for this turf debut, the dark bay seized command from the start. She settled in on the rail and loped along comfortably through early splits posted in :25.04 and :53.09. Save the Park (Divine Park) turned the pressure on at the head of the stretch, but Miss Besilu simply extended her stride and quickly put to rest all challenges winning for fun by 2 1/2 lengths over that rival. The final time for this 1 1/16-mile test on the turf was 1:47.66. The $2.6 million KEENOV weanling purchase is a half sibling to Horse of the Year and Champion Older Horse Saint Liam (Saint Ballado), an earner of $4.5 million. She is also a half sibling to graded stakes winners Congressionalhonor (Forestry) and Quiet Giant (Giant’s Causeway). Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-0, $28,834.
