Morning Line, one of Lane’s Ends’ exciting young stallions, is gearing up for a big year in 2018.  The Grade I-winning millionaire has bred 300 mares in his first four years at stud, and has already gotten off to a flying start with his first crop of three-year-olds in the new year. A leading first-crop sire of 2017, Morning Line has 16 winners from 31 cumulative starters in 2017 and 2018. He is ranked second on the second-crop sires list by percentage of winners to starters at 51%. Morning line is third on the second-crop sires list by percentage of black-type horses at 5.43% ranking just below Shanghai Bobby at 5.63% and above Overanalyze at 5.06% One of his most eye-catching progeny so far is Empire Line, the undefeated winner of Aqueduct’s Damon Runyon Stakes in January. The son of Tiznow is sixth on the leading second-crop sires list by winners in 2018 and, with his runners just beginning to hit their stride, it looks like there will be many more to come this year.
