A Lane’s End-consigned colt from the third crop of QUALITY ROAD topped Sunday’s Book 3 opener at Keeneland September at $710,000.

Mark Reid’s Walnut Green signed for the son of Paris Notion (Dehere), herself a daughter of the G1SW Fabulous Notion.

“Nice colt. Liked everything about him,” Reid told The Blood-Horse. “Physically, was young, a May 7 foal that had a perfect frame to fill in and be a pretty good horse. I think we’re going to like what we see this time next year.”

The QUALITY ROAD colt was not only the top-priced horse during the first of two Book 3 sessions, but led all horses that sold in Book 2, as well.

It’s been another big September for QUALITY ROAD. Other highlights at the sale include a $340,000 filly (purchased by Courtlandt Farm), a $280,000 filly (Ben McElroy Equine), a $250,000 colt (Tom Haughty for PTK), a $225,000 colt (Jerry & Ann Moss), etc.

QUALITY ROAD has had 19 horses sell at September for an average of $160,000.
