MR SPEAKER, the impeccably bred Grade 1-winning son of Pulpit who stood his first season at Lane’s End in 2016, was represented by his first foals today.

At Elm Dale Farm in Canada, the Mizzen Mast mare Grey Pride foaled out a filly by MR SPEAKER. Grey Pride is a granddaughter of Canada’s outstanding broodmare Radiant Ring, dam of champion Catch the Ring and the Classic winner Seeking the Ring.

On the same day, the multiple stakes winner Capella Dancer had a filly (PICTURED) by MR SPEAKER. By Rockport Harbor, Capella Dancer was recently purchased by Keith Desormeaux for $47,000 at Keeneland January.

MR SPEAKER hails from one of the premier pedigrees developed by the Phipps family and was a standout 3-year-old for trainer Shug McGaughey. His biggest win came in a dramatic last-to-first victory in the G1 Belmont Derby at 1 1/4 miles in 2014. The field that day was stellar and included the G1 Breeders’ Cup Classic runner-up Toast of New York, the G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint hero Bobby’s Kitten, the G1 Cox Plate winner Adelaide (Ire), and the further Group 1 winners Gailo Chop (Fr) and Pornichet (Fr).

MR SPEAKER was also a dominating four-length winner of the G3 Lexington S. over Keeneland’s all-weather.

MR SPEAKER is a grandson of the great Personal Ensign, and was produced by a half to My Flag, herself dam of Storm Flag Flying, and both winners of the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.

By Pulpit and out of a Grade 2-performing Unbridled mare, MR SPEAKER is bred on the identical cross as leading sire Tapit.
