On Derby Day at Churchill Downs NATES MINESHAFT made a run in the stretch but just wasn’t enough to hold off three-time Grade 1 winner PRIVATE ZONE in the $500,000 Churchill Downs S. (GII). NATES MINESHAFT placed ahead of PANTS ON FIRE and 2014 Breeders Cup Classic winner and HOTY runner-up BAYERN.

In recent weeks MINESHAFT progeny have seen great success on the track which includes EFFINEX running a 107 Beyer to win the Excelsior S. (GIII) over heavy favorite WICKED STRONG. WOLF MAN ROCKET, a progressive three-year-old and $550,000 two-year-old was co-favored and earned his diploma in the Northern Spur S. Not to be forgotten was NELLIE CASHMAN’s impressive victory in the Dahlia S.

Look for more great success this season from MINESHAFT.
