TOP BREEDERS’ CUP CONTENDERS ADDED TO LANE’S END ROSTER FOR 2019

In 2016 it was Honor Code, Liam’s Map, Mr. Speaker, and Tonalist. In 2018 it was Connect and Unified. In 2019, Accelerate, City of Light and West Coast will join the illustrious stallion roster at Lane’s End Farm. These three distinguished runners are the best of their generation, each a millionaire with multiple Grade 1 victories to their names.

With many horses retiring to stud still lightly proven, Accelerate offers breeders a rare opportunity to send their mares to a sound, consistent, and well-tested stallion. He has raced over 20 times with graded wins as a three-year-old and four-year-old and multiple Grade 1 victories as a five-year-old. He has an astonishing 12 triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures and is only the third horse in history to win the G1 Santa Anita H., G1 Gold Cup at Santa Anita, and G1 Pacific Classic in the same season.

Lane’s End is thrilled to add City of Light, the highest-earning son of sensational young sire Quality Road, to the 2019 roster. The $710,000 Keeneland September purchase has been victorious at the highest level as both a three-year-old and four-year-old with earnings exceeding $1.3 million. The speedy bay won the G1 Malibu on stakes debut and has tallied graded wins from seven furlongs to 1 1/8 miles including the G1 Triple Bend.

Champion Three-Year-Old Colt West Coast is one of the top runners of his era, having defeated Classic winners Always Dreaming, Cloud Computing and Tapwrit, as well as Champions Arrogate and Stellar Wind. A $425,000 Keeneland September buy, his career is highlighted by back-to-back Grade 1 scores, wiring the Travers S. before annexing the Pennsylvania Derby in effortless fashion last summer.

Accelerate and West Coast are two of the more formidable competitors in the upcoming G1 Breeders’ Cup Classic, while City of Light will contest the G1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile. With three top runners, it should be an exciting weekend for Lane’s End Farm.

“We’re very excited about our three new horses. We’re thrilled to get a son of Quality Road in City of Light and with Accelerate and West Coast being among the favorites for the Classic, it will be a nail-biting race for us.”
